Practices Officially Over
With the exception of any wrestlers who have qualified for the IKWF sectionals, the ESW practice season is “officially” over. For any wrestlers interested in learning either or both Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, the wrestling room will be open and focusing on these styles beginning April 5. It is recommended that interested wrestlers bring a practice partner for maximum application and enjoyment. For more information or if you have questions, please contact Coach Salinas directly at salinasr@eths.k12.il.us.
Recognition Ceremony for ETHS State Champion Jeffrey Brown
All ESW families are invited and encouraged to attend a recognition ceremony in honor of Class 3A Heavyweight State Champion Jeffrey Brown. The ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 6:30pm, in the wrestling room at Evanston Township High School. Jeffrey’s picture on the wall of fame will be revealed, and we will celebrate his great accomplishments. This event is open to all of the ETHS and ESW community.
End of Season Awards Banquet
Please join us on Monday, March 15 for our end of season awards banquet. This will be held at Evanston Township High School, Room A241, at 5:30pm. Pizza and lemonade will be provided for all. Please feel free to bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to share. We will celebrate our team and our wrestlers.
Team Movie Outing
The entire ESW team is invited to watch Alice In Wonderland on Sunday, March 21 at The New 400 Theaters (6746 N. Sheridan, Chicago). Thanks to Mr. Tony Fox, the team will enjoy this movie with a drink and popcorn too! Please arrive at 9:30am so everyone can be situated for the 10am start time. Again, a very big thank you to Mr. Fox for his generosity!
We thank each and everyone of you, and your wrestlers, for all your support throughout this season. We couldn’t have had such a great season without all of the assistance at practice, tournaments, concessions, fundraisers and everything else in between. We look forward to celebrating our wrestlers at the above events and we look forward to continuing our relationships at summer camp and next season. Again, thank you for all that you do!
All the best,
Your ESW Coaches
